Baramulla, Jan 31 (KNO): At least seven persons including two foreigners were rescued by the Army on Wednesday in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
As per a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the defense spokesman said that the post of Banal ex Pattan Bn received info at 07:30 pm on 30 January about a skiing team of seven individuals including two foreign nationals (Switzerland) got stranded due to bad weather after coming down from Sunshine peak.
The info was given from SDPO Tangmarg & TA REP, the statement said.
The rescue party of str 02-02-20 under Major Abhay received the information around 0730pm and tried to establish contact with the stranded skiers, the statement said.
Around 09:45pm, the rescue team was able to establish contact with the stranded civilian, who are occupying a dhok near Alu post and stayed put for the night as the approach route was not accessible and bad vis was there, it added.
The Rescue Operation started at around 08:00 am. The individuals were brought to Banal COB and given first aid and meals. The individuals were further taken till Drang Rd Head at 01:00 pm, the statement added—(KNO)
